Mental Toughness in Workouts…You’re Doing It Wrong!

Susan: “It’s getting there.  It’s getting there.  No pain.  That is a big thing.

Natan:  “Didn’t Logan say ‘No pain, no gain?’”

(Everyone laughs)

Logan: You just gotta try harder — that’s it!  If you’re not getting results, you’re not trying hard enough!

Some people believe that honestly!  It’s kind of sad.  There is a time and a place to try.  But with fitness, you honestly don’t have to try that hard.  I’d rather do things easily.  That’s kind of what this is all about.

If you are engaging your mental toughness daily for your workouts, you’re doing it wrong.  I believe that.  I rarely, in my workouts. Just with the kettlebell snatches I am doing right now, which is like once a week, am I like “working.”  Or trying hard.

Really things should be easy because you want to move with good quality, doing it easily.  The sign of someone who can do something real well is not someone who struggles to do something, but someone who can do something amazing and do it easily.  So why not aim for that, rather than doing it hard?

And by doing that, you tend to get less injured.  Because when something is hard, that’s your body’s way of saying, “Let’s not do this!!  There might be something that goes wrong!”
