Pierre Gasnier

Pierre Gasnier was a famous french strongman and a member of Barnum and Bailey Circus in 1890’s, who use to perform various feats of strength, some of which were quite unusual. Aside from regular feats of strength like tearing a deck of cards in half, Pierre used to break chains around his chest while expanding his rib cage.  This extraordinary strongman was amazingly strong for his size – he could lift a 260 pounds dumbbell over his head even though he was weighing 143 lbs and stood only 5’ 3 tall, which is quite impressive.
