Rafter Rows

One thing I never really had an opportunity to work on is rafter pullups. If you’re not familiar with this exercise, it is where you pinch a rafter, fingers on one side, thumbs on the other, and holding up yourself just like this, you do pullups.

In my new place were some rafters I could use.

However, this exercise was beyond my skill/strength level. So that meant I simply needed to find progressions towards it.

Just like one progression towards normal pullups is the inverted row, I started with rafter rows.

There are other ways of making progress towards the rafter pullup, but this is one specific way that can help you get there.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

More info on rafter pullups can be found on this page.
