Goals and Habits

Last year I did a major project around HABITS.

(I never got around to publicly releasing it but that will occur at some point in the future.)

I think it was one of my best works. Probably because its on such an important subject.

Since doing that project, accompanying tons of research and experimentation with myself and others, I have greater command over creating new powerful habits than I ever have before.

Your habits either make or break you.

aristotle-quote

“Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.”
– Warren Buffett

“Sow an act and you reap a habit. Sow a habit and you reap a character. Sow a character and you reap a destiny.”
– Charles Reade

In the reviewing and planning process I described in my last article I set a bunch of goals for every area of my life.

Is it okay if I share with you a big secret of success?

When I realized this it was a big “AHA” moment for me.

More often than not, we know exactly what we need to do in order to achieve some goal.

But we don’t necessarily do it.

However, if you can attach a specific habit to the goal you want to achieve, you will get it.

If that habit leads to the goal, and you actually do it habitually, you cannot NOT achieve the goal.

That’s the power of the right habit.

(Sure, you still need to look at feedback in the process. If your habit isn’t working for you, even if you thought it would, you’ll have to change it. The great news is that in this case you now know something that doesn’t work and can focus on something that does. The fact is you wouldn’t have learned this without taking action so congratulations!)

So as you look at what you’d like to achieve in 2015, with your training, your health and otherwise, what are the habits that will ensure you get there?

If you get this right, the world is yours.
