Yes, numbers like those in increasing your growth hormone levels aren’t too uncommon if you know the right things (including the right combinations of things) to do.
In Upgrade Your Growth Hormone I cover the four main areas for naturally increasing it.
- Sleeping
- Training
- Fasting
- Using Secretagogues
(There’s also a fifth bonus step I include in there that I had NO CLUE about its role in GH until I saw the research.)
I also talk about the Big Picture on why this seemingly odd grouping of things do what they do for this hormone. With this in mind, at least for me, it’s easier to take the right kinds of action.
Today I want to talk about the third step there fasting…
In a study at the Intermountain Heart Institute, a 24 hour fast brought about a 2000% GH increase in men and a 1300% increase for women.
You can read more about that here.
A 24 hour fast is just one option among many when it comes to GH release, though a 2000% increase is certainly worth noting.
Shorter aka intermittent fasting as well as longer fasts can both work with GH in different ways.
Then there is the combination I mentioned earlier that can make it more important.
If you study health you may have come across what is called the hunger hormone, ghrelin.
A big part of this seems to be the work of the hunger hormone, ghrelin. In fact, it was named after its GH promoting effects, with reference to the root word ghre, meaning to grow (Growth Hormone Release-Inducing = Ghrelin).
Get hungry and your growth hormone goes up.
It’s as simple as that.
Of course, there is so much more.
