It’s a sad fact but many of those who would teach you to become stronger, healthier and more fit aren’t really so themselves.
There’s fitness guru’s and weight loss experts that are fat. I mean come on!
Though they may be great marketers that path is not for me. Instead one thing I value is practicing what I preach.
I’m not a stickler for perfection but like to follow the 80/20 rule often.
And on that note I want to explore what yesterday was like and show you specifically how what I practice is what I preach (more specifically teach through my courses all of which are available for about 20 to 70% off right now).
Now over the years, I’ve done a lot of different things. That’s what earned me the nickname of a physical culture renaissance man. And I’ll be continuing to do this, changing what I focus on from time to time, all in an upwards expanding spiral of greatness!
When I woke up in the morning I started doing my morning workout routine. This is an hour of training every single day. It’s the result of the How to Create Successful Habits and Routines Without Willpower or Discipline course that is part of the Strength Health Mind Power Inner Circle.
And this setup I’ve created is already responsible for faster progress towards many different goals.
I start off with some energy work, and some mobility and dynamic flexibility. All of these are covered in Intuitive Mobility. Once I’m “warmed up” in this manner I start on the real work ahead.
Working toward my Beast Snatch Test goal I’ve been doing some form of these on most days. With a couple of modifications its much the same as what I laid out in Kettlebell Snatch Domination. (By the way I’m thinking of putting these updates into that program, which all current owners will get for free.)
Then it’s onto One Arm Chin-up work. My dominant progression is working the free hand as an assist down the working arm. Right now most of my reps are done in the bicep to shoulder range. This is covered in The Ultimate Guide to Handstand Pushups.
However, I did lots of reps yesterday and my body isn’t feeling like doing any pullups today. I can tell because of the communication signals I’ve set using the steps laid out in Beyond Biofeedback: The 4 Levels of Intuitive Training.
This is a big goal of mine, one I’m committed to training each day. Just because I can’t do it physically doesn’t mean I can’t work on it…in my mind. I use some of the processes from Advanced Hypnotic Visualization Athlete Training.
Then its onto hand balancing. My specific goal right now is once again the straight arm press handstand. About a year ago I was closing in on this but then I switched my focus towards weight lifting. Now I’m back at it and at least as far along as I was then. I also spend some time on some other handstand movements like the many variations you can find in Hand Balancing Made Easy.
In between sets of this I work on my pancake and splits flexibility. The basics of how I train this are in Acrobatic Flexibility.
That’s more or less and average day of training for me with what I’m focusing on right now.
Every single one of these courses and far more are available at deep discounts in the Tax Sale I’m holding right now.
If anything speaks to you on what can be added to your own program, or to make positive changes to it, now is the time to act.
